Malobika Sen

Bio-note

Malobika Sen is a University Research Fellow. Prior to starting her academic career, Malobika worked at as Judicial Law Clerk to Senior Judge Hon’ble Justice Soumen Sen at Calcutta High Court and has worked on intellectual property laws, administrative, service and civil laws and also have assisted the Hon’ble Justice Sen on reported judgments. She has also worked on research on the condition of mental health of under-trials prisoners at correctional homes in West Bengal. She has qualified UGC–NET 2021. She has worked as an administrative head and faculty at Clatapult, Kolkata. During pandemic lockdown she has coached candidates independently for CLAT entrance and they have been successfully inducted into the BA/LLB (Hons.) courses at WBNUJS and NLU-Odisha.
In 2021, Malobika obtained her LL.M. from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. Her Masters thesis was on Intellectual Property Protection of Pharmaceutical Innovation and Access to Healthcare: A Comprehensive Study in the Context of Covid 19 Pandemic.
Subsequently, she has enrolled as a Ph.D. Scholar at West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata in 2021. She has completed BA/LLB (Hons.) from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow in 2017. She was the Co-convenor of the Debate and Discussion Committee at RMLNLU, Lucknow. She has completed her schooling from Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata. She has done her internships at Shardul Amarchand And Mangaldas Advocates and Solicitors, Kolkata, Trilegal, Gurgaon, Khaitan & Co. LLP, Kolkata, DSK Legal, Pune, and in house legal department of Zee Entertainment Enterprise, Kolkata.
She is also a Researcher to the Centre for Law, Literature and Popular Culture at WBNUJS, and is currently working on a project on “Rabindranath Tagore and his influence of Law and Policies” at West Bengal National University for Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. Malobika has publications on the Constraints on Civil Liberties in the context of Covid-19 restrictions and Right to Equality of Persons with Gender Queerness. She has helped to translate the Bengali booklets of the Competition Commission of India which has been published in 2021.
