Darshana Mitra

Bio-note

Darshana Mitra graduated from WBNUJS in 2012, after which she worked as a researcher at the Alternative Law Forum, Bangalore. She was a recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Masters Fellowship in 2018. Darshana completed her LLM from Columbia University, New York, where she was a recipient of the Human Rights Fellowship. At Columbia, Darshana received the 2019 Human Rights Institute Commendation for Leadership and Commitment in Human Rights, and she was also a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Darshana is the co-founder of Parichay, a collaborative legal aid clinic that works on citizenship deprivation and statelessness. Darshana’s interests lie in citizenship and immigration law, gender, child rights, and clinical legal education.
