Dr. Atul Alexander

Bio-note

Dr. Alexander completed his LLB (Hons) from the school of excellence in Law and LLM from Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University; he was a gold medal list and university topper both at LLB and LLM, he is also a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Dr. Atul Alexander is also selected as a visiting research scholar at the prestigious Stockholm Center for International Law, U.S Naval War College, United States. Dr. Atul Alexander has written extensively on International Law, and some of his works were cited by the new york times, south china morning post etc., further, he has judged several prestigious moots which include the Jessup Indonesia and Eqypt national rounds and Stetson India rounds (quarterfinals), Herbert Smith Freehills corporate law moot etc. He has authored a chapter for class 12 CBSE legal studies (international Law) EBC publication. He has also participated in International conferences in Indonesia, Philippines, China etc. to name some.

Currently, Dr. Atul Alexander is part of a significant research project on the “Collaborative Engagement for Research, Training and Developing in Handling of Chemical and Hazardous Waste” eastern region partner; the project is undertaken in collaboration with Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) and National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore.

Dr. Atul Alexander completed his PhD on the topic “ The Role of Jus Cogens in International Law: A Critical Analysis”.

Dr. Atul Alexander successfully completed the Diploma Course with magna cum laude (with great distinction) from The Yeosu Academy of the Law of the Sea, Korean Maritime Institute, on 4th November 2022. Dr. Atul Alexander received a full scholarship to attend the course. He was awarded 3,00,000 Korean won for securing overall second rank in the course.
