The Statutory bodies that govern the University, providing vision, leadership and organizational structure ensure that the aforementioned aims and objects of the university are zealously pursued through efficient governance. The Statutory bodies mentioned in the Act are:

The Executive Council
The Executive Council: The chief executive body of the University. The administration, management and control of the University and the income vests in the Executive Council which administers the property and funds of the University:

The Academic Council
The Academic Council: The highest academic supervisory body of the University, empowered with control and general regulation of and responsibility for the maintenance of standards of instruction, education and examination of the University, as well as the right to advice the Executive Council on academic issues;

The Finance Committee
The Finance Committee: The Finance Committee has the following functions:
a. To examine and scrutinize the annual budget of the University and to make recommendations on financial matters to the Executive Council;
b. To consider all proposals for new expenditure and to make recommendations to the Executive Council;
c. To consider the periodical statements of accounts and to review the finances of the University from time to time, to consider reappropriation statements, and audit reports, and to make recommendations to the Executive Council;
d. To give its view and to make recommendations to the Executive Council on any financial question affecting the University either on its own initiative or on reference from the Executive Council or the Vice-chancellor.

These statutory bodies discharge their responsibility in providing efficient administration through close monitoring, regular reporting and transparent decision-making. New rules and regulations are evolved to meet the challenges of modern governance and the representative nature of these bodies, with members from the judiciary, academia and government- contribute towards developing the Institution as a Centre for Excellence in Higher Education.
