Shouvik Kumar Guha is currently holding the post of Assistant Professor (Law) at the W.B.National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata.

He has completed his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from NUJS in 2010 and his LL.M. from the same place in 2013. He has qualified in the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lectureship held on June, 2012.

He has been the recipient of the Nani Palkhivala Gold Medal for securing the topmost rank in the LL.M. programme, 2011-13 at NUJS, the Gopal Subramanium Scholarship, 2012-2013 for securing the topmost rank in the first year of the LL.M. programme at NUJS, as well as the NUJS Student Scholarship during the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme in the academic years 2005-06 and 2009-2010 and during the LL.M. programme in the academic year 2011-12.

He has been a Guest Lecturer at NUJS during the academic year 2013-14, a research assistant at the university from 2010 to 2014, as well as a teaching assistant during 2011 and 2012. He has also been a research assistant to the Ministry of HRD IP Chair Professor at NUJS during 2009-10. He has also interned in and worked as a consultant for litigators, a Supreme Court Justice, companies and several leading national law firms. He has also spearheaded for a while Lexbiosis, a commercial legal research and consultation organization collaborating between industry & academia. He has been associated with the IDIA (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education) Charitable Trust in a directorial capacity.

He has authored till date several articles, notes and policy comments for renowned national and international law journals, such as the Columbia Journal of Asian Law, the Irish Journal of Intellectual Property Law, the Journal of World Intellectual Property Rights, the Asian Journal of Air & Space Law, the Company Law Journal, the Corporate Law Cases, the NUJS Law Review, the Journal of Indian Law & Society and Biospectrum India, to name a few. He has also presented papers in several national and international law seminars and conferences and worked in an editorial capacity for several leading journals such as the NUJS Law Review, the Journal of Dispute Prevention & Resolution, the Journal of Telecommunication & Broadcasting Laws, the Journal of Indian Law & Society etc. He has also been a legal analyzer for the reputed academic blog Spicy IP since 2009.

His areas of interest include Competition Law, Laws of Banking & Finance, Corporate Law, International Trade Law and Intellectual Property Law. Among the subjects he has taught and co-taught are included Corporate Law I, Corporate Law II, Competition Law, Applied Economics & Finance, The Law and Practice of Project Finance, Principles of Insurance Law, Banking Law & N.I. Act, International Banking Law, International Investment Law, Antitrust, Technology & Innovation and Law of Torts.
